It's "Democracy on the Hill" day and some great Davis County folks were in attendance. They heard debates between party officials in both the Democratic and Republican parties, discussed the caucus/convention system, and learned a lot about what makes Utah politics tick. Sen. Todd Weiler, Rep. Jim Nielson, and I enjoyed meeting with them.

Behind the scenes with a Bill:
I'm running a bill that protects the birthdates on voter registration records as private information. Currently, that information is public and accessible to anyone. That causes a lot of concerns over potential identity theft and this bill is an attempt to simply protect the privacy of those who register to vote. The release of private information like your birthdate, even if it is voluntarily made public by you in other places like facebook, should not be a requirement for voter registration. 2012 Legislative Session
